Mimosa Bar

Be sure to check out our new blog Adorn Event Styling for Party tips and tricks!

For the day of my friend Heather's wedding I thought it would be fun to have a little mimosa bar with different juices and fruit. I had been wanting to make a fabric banner for awhile and this was the perfect occasion.  I gathered scraps of fabric and cut strips a little over an inch wide.  For the length I really didn't measure.  I would have like the strips to be a little longer but I did not have enough fabric.

I folded the fabric strips in half and tied them onto a piece of twine.

For the mimosa banner I used an old book, cut out squares and glued the book paper onto white card stock.

We had, water, orange juice cranberry, and a mango juice.  We mixed pieces of raspberries, strawberries and pineapple in with our drinks. They were delicious.

The mimosa bar was a perfect way to start the big day!

Bridal Shower

One of my best friends Heather got married last week.  The weekend was filled with a bridal shower, pedicures, rehearsal dinner and a beautiful wedding.  Her maid of honor, Mckenzie went over the top with all of the parties including our amazing suite at Caesar's Palace for the bachelorette party.

I asked her if she will be my maid of honor when I get married (sorry Chels).
Heather is not a fan of cake so we decided on a donut cake instead.  These insanely yummy donuts are from Beyond Glaze

Mckenzie had these adorable M&M's made with the bride and grooms name and wedding date printed on them.

The room was filled with gorgeous fresh flowers and cute decorations.

A bridal shower is not complete with out a "Cheers bitches" banner.  I believe she ordered this from Etsy.

We had amazing appetizers and a sit down dinner (I told you this shower was amazing).

Michelle and Laura made this tasty Love Potion Number 9 drink. They decorated the jar with lace and diamond trinkets.  Isn't it adorable and it was probably the best mixed drink I have ever had. If you look closely it says 9.15.2012 which is the date of Heather's wedding.  We all could not get enough of how cute this was.

Here is a picture of me with Michelle Money and Laura Armstrong.  If you don't know these girls you should.  Not only are they the sweetest girls they have a great show on Youtube called the MM and L show. They give great make up, hair and fashion advice. Click HERE to see their show and don't forget to subscribe at the top of the page!

I ordered a book from Shutterfly of our bachelorette party in Vegas.  They accidentally sent me this book of somebody's wedding.  So if somebody is missing their wedding album let me know!

The beautiful bride at the wedding rehearsal.  Isn't she glowing?

  The bridesmaids and the bride!

The weekend was so much fun.  More pictures to come of the actual wedding day!

DIY Mirror

Christy and I saw this on Shanty 2 Chic via pinterest and LOVED it!!
We are both needing cute pieces for our new houses so we got the supplies and started making it.
All we got was a mirror from walmart- I think it was only like $5!
And then thanks to my hubs, he was able to bring home extra wood from work for the framing.

Super cheap walmart mirror-
we ripped off the thin white framing off of it

We laid the wood out and stapled it together.

Once it was stapled we started to stain it.
Then we put it outside and let it dry overnight.
We glued the mirror onto the back of the wood and that's it.

Easy easy!!
It really turned out so dang cute.
We decided we are going to make really big ones for our master bedrooms next :)

Burlap Gift Wrap

If you know me than you know I love wrapping paper and decorating presents.  My dream job is to design wrapping paper.  If anyone knows how to do this please tell me!
This is my go-to gift wrap.  Last Christmas I made a ton of these accordion rosettes from old books to have on hand. I bought a roll of brown butcher paper from Hobby Lobby, cut a strip of burlap and tied the rosettes on with twine.  I wanted to spice it up a little so I used pearl Brads in the middle of the rosettes.
So simple but everyone is always impressed when they see this gift wrap.
