All That Glitters is Gold Baby Shower Breakfast

Be sure to check out our new blog Adorn Event Styling for Party tips and tricks!

Last week we had a baby shower for Chelsie.  My friend Amanda, Chelsie's sister Caleigh, and I had been looking forward to this shower for weeks.  Tiffany from Mrs This and That Designs created the adorable invitation.  We framed the back of the invitation to show of her work, and Chelsie's due date. I bought a couple of giraffes and elephants at the dollar store and spray painted them metallic gold to go with our pink, ivory, and gold theme.

Our first Mimosa Bar was such a hit we decided to do it again without the champagne this time.  Amanda bought a large cardboard E and covered it in gold Glitter.  She also made the adorable E tags on the mason jars for a personal touch. I made the tassel garland, which is extremely easy to make! I might need to do a tutorial on this soon!

For the Oh Baby Banner I cut circles using my cricut machine on gold glittered card stock, cut the circles in half and strung them together. The polka dot table cloth is actually a white table cloth from the dollar store. I bought gold paint and  used the circle scraps from the banner as a stencil. Every breakfast shower needs muffins, cinnamon rolls, yogurt parfaits, mini pancakes and a donut cake!

The beautiful mom and big sister!

Amanda came up with the adorable idea to use chocolate chip cookies as party favors, and Tiffany designed the thank you tags.

We had so much fun planning this shower and we can't wait to meet this sweet little girl!

Laundry Room

My little house is finally becoming a home. I love the look of planked walls and I knew I wanted to put them some where in my house.  Since this is a bigger project and I really didn't know what I was doing I chose my small laundry room to test it out.
The picture quality is not that great but overall I love how it turned out.  The House of Smith's has a great tutorial if you want to try this in your home. I followed her tutorial but I ended up using already primed mdf boards from Home Depot. I had two cute little helpers covering up all the nail holes.

Enjoy!

Antique Mirror

I adore "Vintage" mirrors that have the mercury glass look. The only problem is these mirrors are so pricey.  I saw a great tutorial HERE and got inspired to make my own.  I used the same technique as I used in the Mercury Glass Vases.
I purchased 9 frames from the dollar store.  Took the glass out and sprayed a light coat of Krylon's Looking Glass Spray Paint.  The next step is to mix up a water and vinegar solution. I used 3 Tablespoons of water and 3 Tablespoons of vinegar, and poured it into a spray bottle.  I sprayed this solution all over the glass until I was satisfied with the "dirty" look.
I bought a pack of wood shims and liquid nails to secure the frames together.  I let them dry for 2 days and The mirror was all ready!

Enjoy!
