Book Paper Easter Eggs

These adorable eggs are simple to make.  All you need is any type of egg ( I used plastic so I can save them for next year), Mod Podge, a foam brush, water (optional) and an old book.

Step 1- For the first step I gathered all of my supplies and started cutting book pages into little strips.

Step 2- The first egg I put the scraps of paper into water and placed them across the egg.  I soon realized that the strips were getting to wet and sliding off of the egg. So for the rest of eggs I skipped this step.  But who knows it might work for you!

Step 3- I put a layer of Mod Podge onto the egg to add some texture so the paper would stay in place. I put a dry piece of paper over the Mod Podge.  I repeated this step until the egg was covered in paper.

Step 4- For the final step I applied a second coat of Mod Podge over the entire egg.

I got some spanish moss and put them in Easter Stand

I hope you like them!

Glitter Eggs & Vintage Easter Grass

The little one and I had so much fun making these Easter eggs.  I originally found the idea for these eggs on Pinterest.  Click here to see them.  These eggs were so easy to make.  All you need is glue dots  (or any double sided adhesive) and glitter.  For the grass I used an old book and cut about 7 pages into tiny strips. I then folded the strips backwards and forwards to make this crinkled look.

Put the dots anywhere on the egg and sprinkle on the glitter!  Such a fun and simple way to decorate your eggs!

Easter Stand

For Easter I wanted to make a decorative stand that would hold Easter eggs or Easter candy. I went off to the DI and grabbed a candle holder for 5o cents and a bowl for $1.00. I had left over spray paint from the burlap frames so I used that (plus its a great color for Easter).
I spraypainted everything and I was almost ready to glue them together, but I thought I would spray one last coat. Well apparently you can't spray paint glass in cold weather. Within seconds the paint started peeling off!
So I made yet another trip back to the DI for another bowl and candle stick. I ended up buying these beauties.
I spraypained the new ones and I made sure it was a warmer day this time! I glued them together with good old hot glue, did a little distressing and Waalaah I have my new Easter stand.
I can't wait to put my Easter eggs in here. I hope you like it! love- Christy
